Legal Education - at the Guthrie Theater - Goes Online

Westcast podcast features highlights and interviews related to the first production in a Continuing Legal Education series from West LegalEdcenter and the Guthrie
EAGAN, Minn., April 15, 2008 - It's definitely not your typical Continuing Legal Education (CLE) course - but that's what makes a new kind of CLE presentation from West LegalEdcenter at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis such an interesting option. West LegalEdcenter is part of Thomson West, within The Thomson Corporation.
A new Westcast video podcast offers highlights from the first CLE in a unique series at the Guthrie, titled "Merchants of Faith: Bias in the Litigation of Religious Belief." It was offered live on March 25, as well as through West LegalEdcenter's live Webcast. The program is now available to legal professionals through on-demand video on the West LegalEdcenter website.
Besides offering a glimpse of the theater-based CLE experience, the podcast also features interviews with Moneesh Arora, vice president, Legal Education and Professional Development, West Education Group; Lee Ann Enquist, vice president, Professional Development, and Chris Carlson, an immigration law attorney and frequent actor in Guthrie productions, who moderated the CLE.
"Merchants of Faith: Bias in the Litigation of Religious Belief" featured panelists Martin Cole, director of the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility; Andrew Wade, the former head of voice at the Royal Shakespeare Company; and Dr. Barry Cytron, rabbi for Adath Jeshurun Congregation. The CLE also featured three professional actors, currently onstage in the Guthrie's productions of Third and Peer Gynt.
