LiveNote World Service is Now West Court Reporting Services

EAGAN, Minn., Feb. 4, 2008 - LiveNote, a Thomson business (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC), today announced that its renowned LiveNote World Service court reporting business is taking a new name: West Court Reporting Services. Known for providing sophisticated, high-tech court reporting services around the world, West Court Reporting Services now offers new capabilities, resources, and value to courts, litigators, and legal professionals.
West Court Reporting Services is unique because its services are based on the LiveNote technology platform used by more than 80 percent of the top AmLaw law firms. Its continuity and sophistication, as well as compatibility with all popular legal software platforms, provide the foundation for West Court Reporting Services' comprehensive array of service offerings.
"This is more than just a name change," said Will Robberts, general manager for LiveNote and West Court Reporting Services. "LiveNote is already a part of the West family, and this re-branding solidifies the value our software and services collectively bring to West's customers by providing an end-to-end litigation service."
Robberts said the level of service, standards, and technical expertise set by LiveNote's court reporting division is a key differentiator. The most current technologies, like realtime, video synchronization, and exhibit linking, come standard so that customers receive the service, uptime, and access to related content that is critical to a case. "We've packaged traditional court reporting with software and content solutions, such as document retrieval, to give West Court Reporting Services the legal market's most comprehensive portfolio of court reporting solutions," he noted.
